In lieu of unique and extraordinary wedding ideas for your reception and the hall that you have chosen, the wedding planner feels urged this month to direct you to the importance of not glossing over important minor details that can prevent your revelers from enjoying themselves to the fullest. The seating chart and table assignments are important to having a party that your relatives and friends will remember. This was recently illustrated in person, when mismatched table assignments created an atmosphere that was stale, uneventful, unmemorable, and resulted in many guest leaving the reception before it was even over. So, when designing your table arrangements and before sending out the invitations, please keep the following in mind:
- Keep children on the peripherals, because they move around so much anyway
- Older folks are best situated away from the band or DJ
- Pair people who know and like each other, and/or have similar interests
- Do not seat mismatched folks with a group of friends, this will prevent any awkwardness
- Divorced parents and separated relatives are best kept on opposite sides of the hall
- Don’t be afraid to ask your wedding coordinator for additional help
